ABOMINATION CODEX FAQs

Q: When a Vampyre takes the Essence of a Mocker (which is partly Taint), what happens? Is the Vampyre now Tainted? And what effect would this have in play?

A: Generally, Vampyres can only absorb Essence, so the Taint does not affect them. A Vampyre who tries to absorb the Taint on purpose would acquire a Taint pool equal to 1/10 of the amount absorbed. Use the rules for Tainted characters in Abomination Codex in that case (see p. 115).

Q: There were only a few types of predatory land mammals listed as Feral samples. I assume this was due to space considerations. I would like to create some other Shapes. Is there was a method of adapting other predatory animals types so that they can be used as Feral species. What I'm looking for is some sort of breakdown so that they may be constructed and get balanced point totals that balance with the examples given in the Abomination Codex.

A: The basic method for calculating a Feral's value is as follows:

The basic cost of being a Feral is 10 points.

Add 1 point for every Attribute bonus of the form. So, if the form has +2 to Strength, Dex and Con, add +6 to the value.

Add 1 point for every +5 to Speed.

Add 1 point for every point of Armor Value.

Add 1 point for every natural attack that inflicts D6 x Str (D4 x Str has no cost). So, if the critter in question has a claw attack that does D4 x Str, and a bite that does D6 x Str, add 1 point.

Add everything together, and you're all set.

To figure out an animal's bonuses, use the shapes in the Abomination Codex as guidelines.

Most animals should be within the levels in the examples. Hope that helps.
